Children’s Clothing Bank Dunfermline provides new and good-quality pre-loved clothes to families who need support, entirely free of charge.
We help children and young people from birth up to and including age 18 with clothing parcels that may include everyday clothes, pyjamas, underwear, school uniform, coats, footwear and other essential items.

About Us
Who we are?
Our mission is simple: to make sure children and young people have the clothing they need, in a dignified and supportive way. We provide new and pre-loved clothes to families in need in Dunfermline and surrounding areas.
The charity was set up in response to the financial impact of Covid-19, and the need for support has continued as the cost-of-living crisis affects local families. In the first five years the clothing bank provided more than 2,500 clothing parcels, helping over 1,300 local families. We are run entirely by volunteers who give up their time to help. Your support helps us provide free children’s clothing to local families who need it most. Whether you donate good-quality clothes or give financially, every contribution makes a difference.
Donate children’s clothes
We are grateful for donations of new, nearly new and good-quality pre-loved children’s clothing in all sizes from newborn up to age 18.
We are especially happy to receive:
- pyjamas
- dressing gowns and onesies
- pants, vests, socks and tights
- winter coats, hats and scarves
- jumpers, hoodies and t-shirts
- tracksuit bottoms and jeans
- leggings
- dresses
- generic school uniform items
- wellies
- swimwear
For hygiene reasons, pants, vests, socks and tights can only be accepted if they are new and unworn.
Please make sure all clothing is clean and laundered before donation.

I want to help but have no clothes to donate
Financial donations help us provide essential items that are harder to source through clothing donations, including brand-new underwear, socks, pyjamas, shoes and specific clothing requests.
Your donation can make a direct difference:
£10 buys new pants, vests and socks for a child
£20 buys joggers or leggings for a family with three children
£40 provides a warm jacket for the walk to school in winter
Get help
I know someone who would benefit from your service. How can they get help?
We are a referral based service and work in a similar way to foodbanks. We accept referrals from anyone whose work involves supporting families, including:
- health visitors
- teachers
- social workers
- advocacy workers
- family support workers
- other professionals working directly with families
Please ask the person working with the family to contact us. We will do our best to provide the items required.
At the moment, referrals are best made by someone already supporting the family. This helps us understand what is needed and provide the right clothing as quickly and respectfully as possible. If the family doesn't have someone to make the referral to them, contact the Dunfermline Welfare Support Team and they can make a referral for the family.

Our normal opening hours are:
Monday:- 10am -12 noon and 6pm - 8pm
Wednesday:- 10am - 12 noon
Thursday:- 10am - 12 noon
Friday:- 10am - 12 noon
Sunday:- 1st Sunday of each month, 12 noon - 2pm
